This fall, The Turnaway Project is launching Our Facts, Your Stories, a new campaign connecting Turnaway Science on abortion access with the stories and lived experiences that shape reproductive freedom.
The campaign draws from groundbreaking research from The Turnaway Study by Dr. Diana Greene Foster, which sought to answer the question, "What happens when someone is denied an abortion?" The study compared people who received a wanted abortion with those who were denied one. Its findings show that access to wanted abortion care can have lasting implications across people's lives.
Our Facts, Your Stories brings those findings into conversation with the many stories people have about abortion, access, and the impact it has on their lives. These stories extend beyond abortion. Reproductive freedom can shape whether someone can access reproductive healthcare, decide if or when they become a parent, care for the families they already have, build financial stability, and, most importantly, make decisions about their own future.
Our facts provide the evidence.
Your stories bring the research to life.
Together we can create the change we want to see.
